europe backpacking trip/mochilao 2003

cruise-barcelona

so i flew off to barcelona on 18 june to meet up with diana... unfortunately we took zero pictures together but suffice to say that we went to the beach, clubbing, and had a great time. i'm just sorry i don't have the photographs to prove it.

21 june i met up with my grandmother at the puerto de barcelona and we kicked off a week-long cruise aboard the royal caribbean 'splendour of the seas'. the ship docked at villefranche (we spent the day in nice), livorno (spent the day at pisa), rome (we stayed on the ship that day), naples (went to capri, pompeii, & sorrento), and malta (we stayed in the capital, valletta).

i met absolutely amazing people on the cruise. most of them were americans but there was a very special canuck on there too, all 2.03-metres of him! one of them, greek-american melina, sent me pictures from the trip--i posted three of them on the 'cruise II' page.

after the cruise returned to barcelona 28 june we spent five more days in barcelona. during our time in spain i stupidly only took pictures of sites and not of us--so once again i have no tangible proof that i have ever actually stepped foot inside spain. during our time in barcelona we also took a daytrip to montserrat, a secluded mountaineous area where nuns & monks have lived for centuries.
